P-O-S-I-T-I-V-E.

Why am I surrounded by people who are morbidly morbid? Seriously.

At home, at school. Everywhere!

I hear people cursing about the tiniest things. The heck you guys! Why did you tread the path you’re on right now if you’re going to curse your freaking way through it. It’s not helping for crying out loud. It’s freaking annoying. People should all get up, get a life. Is cursing the only way to express emotions? Let me curse my freaking way through this blog.

Depressing day.

People should try to be more… you know, P-O-S-I-T-I-V-E.

xoxo till next time! ;>

[REVIEW] Dolce Latte: Cafe, Gourmet & Bakeshop

Hello FOOD!

Dolce Latte has been in my to-visit restaurants for quite sometime now. It really gives off a casual-fine dining feel without the I-must-be-dressed-well-before-I-enter-these-doors appeal. It’s found in between the oh-so-huge HI-TOP Supermarket and another oh-so-huge C&E Bookstore. This means: Buy some books from the bookstore, read ‘em at the cafe nearby, drink a cup of coffee while you’re at it! Oops, I have to buy some groceries for home! Take a few steps - voila! - hello, supermarket! Talk about prime spot.

Anyhoo, the place is perfect for catching up with friends too! Business meetings - easy! (In fact, while I was there, there were some 2 or 3 tables having meetings. ;> ) Sophistication.

DID I MENTION INTERIOR?! Ambiance is important in any restaurant. Look at the ceiling! And the chairs! Uuuuh - le magnifique!

Ok, so, it’s settled. Environment - check! Moving on to the real deal - FOOD!

First up, salad! Dolce Latte Sta. Fe Style Salad.

That’s not how it was served. ;< The people I was with were TOO HUNGRY to wait for my phone’s camera to close-shutter.

Veggies! YUM! Other than the greens, we got cheddar cheese, tomatoes, sagittally (medical jargon!) cut boiled eggs, olives, anchovies, chicken! The mix was niiice. Oh there was a dressing, but I didn’t pour in much which was a good move because the dressing could’ve easily overpowered the cheese + anchovy feel.

This was what my palate was up against. 2-eyed fish! …Kidding! My perfect healthy lunch! Parmesan crusted fish fillet with salad and mashed potato!

I had a choice between rice pilaf and potato. Potato wins all the time in my book but I must say I had better mashed potatoes before. A little salt and pepper is due! Salad had greens, carrots, cucumber served with oil-based dressing. The sole fillet was scrumptous! ;> Parmesan + lemon complemented the fillet quite well! White sauce sealed in all the flavors. (I actually told myself not to put the sauce since I’m watching my weight. Fail. Couldn’t stop myself since it was a great mix. Fail. If I gain weight, I blame Dolce Latte. :|)

BBQ Spareribs Venetian Style. ARE YOU HUNGRY NOW? Meat was so sooft and tender. My mouth’s watering. The sauce was sweet! Pair it up with meat and a little mashed potato to lighten the sweetness. Again, choice of rice or potatoes. Served with buttered-veggies.

Last but not the least - Grilled vegetable sandwich!

I didn’t get to munch on this one but it looks like a health-some meal to me! The chips / French fries were CRISPY. BIG and CRISPY. I think this was the first time I’ve encountered BIG CRISPY fries. ;> The white sauce over there was yogurt.

BEVERAGES!

L - Apple Cinnamon Tea Blend  |  R - Dolce Latte Tea Blend (Kiwi-Mango)

The first one tastes… like cough syrup. So if you’re into the whole I-am-an-addict-for-cough-syrup era, you’re going to LOVE this. My personal pick would be more for DL Tea Blend. Kiwi bits at the end of the glass so sip and chew with delight! Don’t forget to stir your drink!

Oh and might I just add, at a price range of P300-500+ per entree and P90-150 beverages, I’d say fairly reasonable owing to their big servings. Not for the typical student looking for a place to nomnomnom but a-ok for the working mum’s and dad’s and business-persons out there. ;>

Oh, lookie - a webpage! http://www.dolcelatte.ph!

One Inch, More or Less

Hello, entry inspired by senior! Hm.

That didn’t sound right. Anyway, I’m re-doing what a senior of mine did when she was having her examinations in (yes, you guessed it) medical school. We don’t go to the same university but, heck, med school is med school. Expect TONS of things to read. Literally. Tons. I am not kidding. Illustration follows… Tada!

One inch, more or less. That’s just for one 2-hour examination on Biochemistry.

My university is receiving applications for medical school! Who’s taking? Are you scared now? ;> I’m just playin’.

xoxo till next time! ;>

Back to Basics

I’m saying goodbye to the longhiatusfromblogging I’ve had for the last, say, 6 months. From here on out, I will pursue this love for writing and merge it with the passion for stopping time (aka photography) and make those two battle it out with my toxichecticunrealistic schedule in medical school. We gotta keep it real here. Life’s not all about school.

Medical school is amazing. Just saying though. Some people were forced into taking up post-graduate studies so they’re having a rough time. But somehow, I’m having the time of my life. It’s fun being under this pressure. My body has always worked better under pressure than not. LOL. Anal.

I’m having my fair-share of stumbling blocks too (although some people disagree with me to such a great degree that it’s so much better to keep silent on the matter). We all have our up’s and down’s. So bug-off haters! ;>

Anyhoo, I can’t believe I entered the oh-so-holy operating room once again yesterday! It’s been such a long time since my last practicum at the OR so it’s refreshing.

xoxo till next time ;>
